About Us

Since 1963, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca has served the Lord by reaching out to Eastern Iowa and beyond. We started as a camp for the local churches to meet, camp, and fellowship. Today we minister to many churches and other groups throughout the state.

Our staff today continue to meet the challenges in reaching out to our communities.

Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca is a Lutheran camp and retreat facility. We welcome Christian churches, schools, and organizations from across eastern Iowa and beyond to rent our facilities. Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca also hosts non-religious/spiritual groups such as public schools, businesses, community organizations, and specialty retreats such as scrapbooking and quilting retreats. Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca is also a popular and relaxing place for family reunions and Christian ceremonies. Contact Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca today to schedule your group's retreat.

Beverly Ahlemeyer joined Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca in April 1996 in what was initially intended to be a short term, part-time job. She’s never left. In that time, she has had a hand in processing practically every donation, registration, and retreat contract. When not at camp, she is likely working in the three year-old preschool classroom, library, or as a substitute associate at Shellsburg Elementary School.
